Operation of a Multiple-Wafer Silicon MBE Apparatus

We describe our experience with the setup and operation of a prototype batch processing system for high throughput silicon MBE. The design (originated at Bell Laboratories and developed jointly with VG Semicon) was described earlier. We focus here on issues of mechanical reliability, deposition uniformity, ion doping and computer control.
