We discuss AT&T's plans to enhance network operations capabilities as part of the plan to meet customer needs in the area of integrated network management. An existing AT&T hybrid private/virtual (primarily voice) service is described. Examples of customer premise and network integrating tools which represent realizations of AT&T's UNMA are discussed, and we examine how they will improve and replace existing network management and operations capabilities. Finally, we discuss possibilities for incorporating a wider range of services (voice and digital), and strategies to meet customer network management needs in the future.
