Optical MEMS in Optical Networks

This paper presents recent developments of optical MEMS based devices and their relevance in optical networks. In particular we will introduce the wavelength selective 1xk switch, a new building block for various network architectures, and report on large port count crossconnect and their significance in optical networks.
