Tactile Internet has risen as a network paradigm aiming at freeing human beings from the burden of repetitive automatic daily tasks, so they can focus on the goal of their actions rather than how their actions are actually performed. It is widely accepted that the success of Tactile Internet is bound with the massive deployment of Edge Clouds, whereby distributed Data Centers hosting computing capabilities are brought to shorter distances from the users (e.g. a few tens of kilometers) and provide faster, easier and cost-effective data processing. But shortening distances is not the only requirement. The Edge Cloud needs to be a deterministic low latency, highly reactive, and trustable network, as opposed to today's best effort internet. In this paper, we show how Deterministic Dynamic Network, which relies on two time slotted networks proposed by Bell Labs (Optical Ethernet and Cloud Burst Optical Slot Switching) will enable the Edge Cloud computing.
