Optimized filtering for electronic equalizers in the presence of chromatic dispersion and PMD

For receivers using an adaptive threshold, a feed forward/decision feedback or a Viterbi equalizer with either single or polarization diversity inputs, optical and electrical filter bandwidths are investigated for chromatic dispersion and PMD.
