Optimizing MISO Antenna Systems with Partial Channel Knowledge

After some general definitions (sections 1.2 and 1.3), we analyze the two canonical scenarios when dealing with partial channel information. In section 2 we consider the case of a channel with zero mean and a given covariance matrix and transmission with arbitrary covariance. The ergodic and outage mutual informations are derived analytically and optimized. In section 3 a non-zero mean channel will (also) be assumed, and similar calculations are performed.
