Organometallic Chemistry of Metal Atom Reaction with Polyimides: Implications for the Adhesive Bond
08 July 1990
We have developed a unique model compound probe of the metal/polyimide interface. PMDA-ODA polyimide is modeled as distinct molecular subunits that are screened for reactions with chromium and aluminum atoms. For example, organochromium compounds can be isolated after combining low molecular weight analogs of the polyimide with atomic chromium under vacuum in a rotating cryostat.
