Outage Calculation Methods for Microwave Digital Radio

1. INTRODUCTION: Previous papers in the Special Series on Microwave Digital Radio have discussed the rapid growth, the sophisticated methods and the special technical problems of microwave digital radio systems.[1- 4] All have emphasized the importance of multipath fading as an obstacle to link reliability, and the third paper [3] dealt with multipath fading channel models. In this fifth paper of the series, we show how such models can be used to estimate the reliability of digital radio links.
