Packaging Scheme For Computer Disks
Computer disks have to be packaged for distribution to customers along with written customer documentation. The packaging must meet tamper-evident requirements, i.e., opening of the packing indicates acceptance of the terms of the software license by the customer. The present submission relates to a computer disk package which is formed from a clear plastic material which is die cut and heat sealed into the form of an envelope as shown in FIGs. 1 and 2. The envelope includes a pouch portion 100 which holds a disk, a flap 101 which is folded over a surface of the pouch, and a tab 102 extending from an edge of the pouch. The tab is formed with holes 103, 104 and a slotted hole 105 to allow for location of the envelope onto the rings of a loose leaf binder which may contain the customer documentation. The use of a transparent plastic material to form the envelope advantageously allows any label on either side of the disk and in any position thereon to be read without removing the disk.
