Parametric Amplification and Wavelength Conversion of a 2.048-Tbit/s Nyquist-WDM PDM 16-QAM Signal

We demonstrate polarization-insensitive parametric amplification in highly nonlinear fiber of a 2.048-Tbit/s Nyquist-WDM PDM 16-QAM signal with ~10 dB on-off gain and simultaneous wave-length conversion and phase conjugation, with mean Q-squared penalties of only 0.6 dB and 0.4 dB.
