Passive Harmonically Modelocked Fiber Laser Using a Tapered Er/Yb Waveguide Amplifier and Saturable Bragg Reflector

A cavity utilizing a tapered Er/Yb waveguide amplifier, single mode fiber, and a saturable Bragg reflector demonstrates passive harmonic modelocking of up to 11 evenly spaced solitons at a repetition rate of 527 MHz. Autocorrelation measurements yield 770 fs pulses with a 0.33 time-bandwidth product and pulse energies of 20 fJ.
