PEDOT:PSS conducting polymer as binder and conductive additive for silicon nanoparticle-based lithium-ion battery anodes

This paper describes a method to significantly improve Li ion battery anodes fabricated from Si nanoparticles. It replaces the multiple non active additives (usually an inert polymer and carbon black) used to improve the anodes electrical and mechanical properties with one multifunctional additive the conductive polymer PEDOT PSS, We achieve performance which is at or above the SoA for SiNP Li ion battery anodes.
