Pentaconta line concentrators

Describes the functioning and application of line concentrators which use the Pentaconta crossbar switch, a 14 detection bar multi-selector serving 52 outlets. Data on 3 versions give number of subscribers, traffic and control trunk circuits, traffic handling capacities, sizes And weights of exchange and subscriber units. Connection to the exchange is as for a normal subscriber but for the sleeve wire of the sub's line circuit also to be connected to the m.d.f. Economics of line concentrators are discussed and their main use for residential subscribers is explained. Installation aspects are briefly dealt with.
