Percolation approach to the Quantum Hall Effect.

This paper represents an expanded version of the invited talk to be delivered at an International Conference on The Application of High Magnetic Fields in Semiconductor Physics, Wurzburg, Germany, August 1986. It reviews the simplest description of the integral Quantum Hall Effect - based on a quasi-classical model of the electronic states and certain ideas of the percolation theory.
