In this paper we analyze the performance of a statistical multiplexer offered a superposition of packetized voice sources and data traffic, for the case where voice packets have non-preemptive priority over data packets. The performance analysis predicts voice packet delay distributions, which usually have a stringent requirements, as well as data packet delay distributions.
