Performance Analysis of PACS: Modeling and Simulation

A queueing model of a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) is under development to analyze the system elements individually and interactively, to facilitate the design of system configurations to establish optimal performance, and to explore alternative hypotheses for potential impact. The CommView sup (R) system, a joint effort between AT&T and Philips, ahs been operational at Georgetown University Hospital for over one year and is the subject of this study.
