Performance Considerations for Signaling Networks in an ISDN Environment
05 May 1986
An essential component of ISDN is the out-of band signaling capability, and on ISDN access facilities this is provided on a D-channel employing the Q.931 protocol. The D-channel conveys user-to-network information for B-channel call-associated signaling and user-to-user information (UUI) for end-to-end data transfer between users.
