Performance of soft-decision FEC in systems with bivariate Gaussian noise distributions

We demonstrate through analysis and Monte Carlo simulations how general bivariate Gaussian noise impacts the performance of soft-decision low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes designed for additive, circularly symmetric Gaussian noise.
