Phase-Conjugated Twin Waves and Fiber Nonlinearity Compensation

We review the concept, experimental demonstrations, and performance tradeoffs of phase-conjugated twin waves for fiber nonlinearity mitigation. The implications of the underlying physics for perturbation-based fiber nonlinearity compensation are also discussed.
