Physical Properties of (Ba,K)BiO sub 3 and Ba(Pb,Bi)O sub 3

Through substitution of K for Ba or Pb for Bi in BaBiO sub 3 , a transition from a CDW to a superconducting ground state can be induced. We will report the result of extensive studies covering the entire CDW-SC phase diagram. On approaching the superconducting composition, the strength of the CDW decreases. The superconductors are of extreme type II and from their critical fields we deduce the electronic density of states at E sub F .
