Picosecond time resolved Raman studies of photodissociated carboxymyoglobin.
01 January 1985
We report the first picosecond time resolved Raman spectra of myoglobin (Mb) generated with Soret excitation. Pulses of 20-30 picosecond duration and sufficient intensity to completely photolyze the liganded sample were employed. It is observed that the peak frequencies in the spectrum of the deoxy transients are the same as those observed 10 nsec subsequent to photolysis and are similar to those of the deoxy steady-state protein.
