This talk is a brief review of some of the general process related issues that relate to the fabrication of optoelectronic devices. A general discussion will be given of the importance of dimensional and compositional control of material growth processes, the importance of good morphology and the importance of material perfection. Also discussed will be some of the general considerations that must be considered in choosing dielectrics and metals for the fabrication of optoelectronic devices. The talk will be 20 minutes in length and utilize only information that has already been published or released.
