Quantum frequency translation of single-photon states in photonic crystal fiber

We experimentally demonstrate frequency translation of a nonclassical optical ¯eld via four-wave mixing (Bragg scattering) in a photonic crystal ¯ber (PCF). The high nonlinearity and controlled dispersion of the PCF enable e±cient translation between nearby photon channels within the visible-to-near-infrared spectral range, which is useful in quantum networks.
