Automatic telephone systems employing single motion switches or uni-selectors are now well known. Such systems are characterised by the use of common control circuits, resulting in a minimum of equipment being held in use during the period of conversation. The R-6 system is a single motion switch system designed primarily for step-by-step areas and employs a single motion switch with a step-by-step drive. In this respect the R-6 system is similar to the bypath system. The well known 7-D rotary system is also a single motion switch system but is designed on rotary principles with power drive switches.
