This paper introduces a reciprocal multiplexer that can be easily reconfigured, in the sense that the number of channels can be reduced or expanded, by substituting the filters with suitable reactive loads or vice-versa. Although easy to manufacture, such loads are designed in such a way that the electrical characteristics of the remaining r-mux maintain unaltered and additional tuning is not required. The proposed solution allows to reduce both costs and losses by eliminating the circulators, although maintaining some flexibility.
