Reaction of Anionic and Cationic Silicon Clusters with Tungsten Hexafluoride Studied by Fourier Transform Ion Cyclotron Resonance Mass Spectrometry
01 January 1986
Aionic and cationic silicon clusters react exothermically with WF sub 6 give a variety of tungsten and silicon fluorides. All the silicon anionic clusters transfer their charge to WF sub 6. The electron affinities of Si sub 2-6 are estimated to be less than the electron affinity of WF sub 6 (350kJ/mole (3.6 eV)).
