Real-Time 2.5GS/s Coherent Optical Receiver for 53.3-Gb/s Sub- banded OFDM

We demonstrate the real-time implementation of a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) based coherent optical orthogonal frequency- division multiplexing (CO-OFDM) receiver at 2.5-Gsamples/s, which successfully receives a subband of a 53.3-Gb/s multi- band CO-OFDM signal with a record-low error floor of 3.7x10- 8.
