Real-time holographic interferometry through fiber optics.

This paper describes the design and operation of a sophisticated HI system utilizing single mode optical fiber illuminators, a coherent multimode bundle, and an "instant" holocamera to provide high resolution full field HI data in real-time. This development has great potential for applications to the study of critical strain or deformation fields that can be accessed only via fiber optics, such as those which develop inside a pressure vessel, a nuclear reactor or an enclosed electronic equipment bay.
