The automatic handling of toll traffic usually involves the multiple metering system for charging subscribers' calls. The absence of the call ticket which is used in a manually operated toll service means the loss of valuable information, not only from an exploitation point of view but also for the eventual satisfaction of the subscriber. A system has been devised which automatically prepares a ticket containing the information by means of a printing register, and the system has been installed for trial in the Bruges zone. The results have been so successful that the system is to be extended to Brussels and will probably cover the whole country. The circuit arrangements used for identifying a calling subscriber's line are described in some detail.
