Recent Progress in Fiber-based Optical Parametric Amplifiers

As applications of parametric amplifiers continue to expand, improvements in the technology are needed. We describe here using longitudinal strain to enable dither-free pumping, thus enabling the parametric processing of signals with complex modulation formats.
