Relationship Between Structure and Reactivity for Metal Clusters Formed in Ion-Molecule Reactions in Group 6 Metal Carbonyls

We have previously reported the relative rate constants for gas-phase cationic clustering reactions in Re2(CO)10, Mn2(CO)10, and ReMn (CO)10(1,2) and anionic clustering reactions in Fe(CO)5. From these studies we concluded that it is possible to infer structural information about the cluster ions from their kinetic behavior.
