Reliability Theory with Applications to Preventive Maintenance
01 January 2001
Preventive maintenance planning is one of the few applications of reliability theory where the close connection, via economics, of the mathematical models to the needs of decision-makers is immediately apparent. Ilya Gertsbakh, a contributor to the recent Special Issue of the IIE Transactions on Quality and Reliability Engineering devoted to Reliability Economics [1] and co-author with K. Kordonskiy of the widely respected reliability-theory test [2], has written a full-length treatise on preventive maintenance (PM) for engineering systems. I think you will agree with me that this book is a welcome addition to the resources our profession possesses to learn from, teach from, and refer to.
