Report on Federation of Materials Societies Workshop: 'Electronic Materials: A Key to U.S. Competitiveness'

The talk is a summary of a workshop which was conducted February 6 and 7, 1986 on the same subject. The conclusions were that electronic materials are essential for devices, systems, and hence, for national competitiveness. The material to be covered is not AT&T Bell Laboratories material, but rather a summary of the deliberations of a group of outside experts who made presentations at the workshop.
