Research Opportunities on Clusters and Cluster-Assembled Materials.

This report summarizes the present state of knowledge concerning the physical and chemical properties of intermediate sized clusters, and the available methods of size specific synthesis and isolation. It also addresses the possibility of synthesis of new materials by controlled assembly of stabilized clusters. The report was written by a thirteen member study panel for the Department of Energy Council on Materials Science.
