Resource Federation and Brokering Architecture for Network Slice Orchestration
We present an architectural model enabling a network operator to federate IT and network resources owned by private third-party actors and located at the edge. To achieve this federation, we propose a brokering layer with all necessary functions to allow third-party actors to expose their resources to operators. Based on federation and brokering of resources, we detail the architecture implementation and we illustrate the building and deployment of end-to-end network slices over multiple infrastructure domains and their customization for event-based application services. Finally, we evaluate and discuss the feasibility study and the considered use cases.
