Rotary automatic telephone introduced into Paris
14 October 1928
The paper describes the first step in converting Paris from manual to automatic equipment, when provision will be made for four 10,000 line offices; this step consists of the transference of 3500 working lines to the new Rotary Automatic Office, Carnot. A detailed description is given of this office, which will be characteristic of all the Paris offices. Direct trunking is chosen as the means for establishing connections outgoing from the permanent manual to the automatic offices, in preference to order wire trunking.
