1. Introduction: Occasionally signals from unknown sources interfere with satellite video signals. The interference can be of long or short duration and is always harmful to the desired service signal. The interference may be accidental and could readily be eliminated if the responsible party were notified - but to date no direct means have existed to readily identify the interferer.
