Until now 'multi-level secure' operating system have been designed to be connected only to 'dumb' terminals because we have assumed that intelligent terminals are necessarily insecure. An intelligent terminal has considerable potential for compromising the security of the system; the more intelligent the terminal, the greater the hazard.
