Security Aspects of 4G Services

As the 4G vision encompasses the integration of heterogeneous access network technologies, the very first item that needs to be integrated are the various security mechanisms for each network. This paper present an integrated 4G security architecture based on state-of-the-art technologies and recent insights. Specifically, it focuses on two main aspects of security: authentication (required for charging and prevention of misuse) and data encryption (to guarantee privacy).
