Self-Assembly and Electronics os Dipolar Linear Acenes

Linear acenes terminated with quinones demonstrate that electrostatic complementarity is a viable self-assembly motif fir organic semiconductors. An organic field-effect transistor with co- facial, head-to-tail stacks with pi-surfaces 0.1A closer together than the aromatic planes of graphite is fabricated. The fiel- effect mobilities and ON/OFF current ratios are high enough to be useful in flexible electronic applications.
