Semantic Network Monitoring and Control over Heterogeneous Network Models and Protocols

. SNoMAC is a Bell Labs research effort and functional prototype that applies semantic web technologies to the challenge of heterogeneous network discovery, monitoring, analysis and control. Initial focus of this work is on home, small office and sensor networks using TR-069, UPnP and SIXTH protocols and data models. This technical report describes the SNoMAC concept, proposed architectural design, ontologies, prototype implementation and some benefits of using semantic reasoning for device abstraction and integration.
