Semiconductor Interface Structures

X-ray diffraction is a powerful technique for studying surface and interface structures alike. The main advantages are 1) the scattering is kinematical allowing Fourier analysis methods to be used, 2) x-rays can penetrate easily to an interface. Sufficient selection of the surface/interface signal from the bulk is possible by its symmetry alone.
