A description of the method of manufacture and the properties of various kinds of beaded semiconductors made up of sintered mixtures of two or more metallic oxides of Mn, Co, Ni, Fe, Ti and Cu. The method of heat treatment of semiconductors having arbitrary values of R and B on the R-B chart is explained. The sintering process is also described. If the resistance/temperature characteristic of a semiconductor is known, its stability with temperature and degree of vacuum can be explained, as well as variations of its characteristic arising from different heat-treatment conditions. Furthermore, by using triangular co-ordinates to indicate the proportions of the constituents, the relationship between the composition of the element and its resistance/temperature characteristic can be determined. Finally, the composition of a thermistor is discussed.
