Special-purpose relays

Formulae are derived for the operating speed of the relay in terms of time to reduce back-contact pressure to zero and the time to open contacts. Characteristics are quoted of two relays, one having an operating time of 2.6 msec, the other 22 msec, the relays being designed respectively for high operating speeds and high sensitivity with reliable back-contact pressure of 20 g.
