Spectroscopy of Electronic Excitations in Semiconductors Microstructure

Free carriers in semiconductor heterojunctions and quantum wells induce fundamental changes in the optical properties. This talk reviews absorption, emission and inelastic light scattering spectroscopies in these microstructures. The emphasis is on the physics of the ultra-high mobility electron-gas at low temperatures.
