Statistical Activities at Allied-Signal Inc., John Deere, and AT&T

About three decades ago applied statistics in Allied Chemical focused on operations research applications from the corporate office and design of experiments work at the Buffalo R&D dyestuff location. This work led to the Center for Applied Mathematics, which involves applied statistics in R&D, manufacturing, quality improvement, and health and environmental problems. With acquisitions and expansions into aerospace and automotive businesses, the new parent company Allied-Signal, Inc. is now served by the Center and statistics personnel at other locations.
