We achieve asynchronous phase modulation in a two-pump parametric processor using one phase modulator to provide stimulated Brillouin scattering suppression to both pumps. Unimpaired optical idlers can be selectively generated within the arbitrary first-order parametric band. Simple frequency tuning controls the pump synchronization, eliminating the requirement for precise balancing of the pump optical paths. The performance of the new scheme was measured using both co- and counter-phased idler generation.
