Structure and delocalized vibrational modes in vitreous Si (x)(Se(1-y)Te(y)) (1-x).
01 January 1985
Vitreous samples of Si(x)(Se(1-y)Te(y))(1-x), 0.333 = x = 0.43, were synthesized by melt-quenching, and analyzed by Raman spectroscopy. Different aspects of medium-range order that arise from coupling of similar structural units are discussed in the context of the CLCC model. Also presented is an alternative interpretation of observed Raman bands in terms of delocalized vibrational excitations spanning over such coupled structures.
