The structure-sensitive magnetic properties of Ni(78)Mn(22) were investigated by measuring the low-field dc susceptibility of this alloy prepared in different ways: arc melted, as-rolled, heat-treated at 900C and water-quenched, crystalline and amorphous films. These measurements reinforce the dependence of magnetic properties on structure previously observed in ac susceptibility measurements. On the other hand, the spontaneous magnetizaton remains essentially unchanged through the spin-glass freezing temperature in both crystalline and amorphous Ni(78)Mn(22).
