Superconducting and Normal State Parameters of Bi sub (2.2) Sr sub 2 Ca sub (0.8) Cu sub 2 O sub (8+delta) Single Crystals: A comparison with Ba sub 2 YCU sub 3 O sub 7 .
01 January 1988
Magnetic and magnetotransport properties were studied on Bi sub (2.2) Sr sub 2 Ca sub (0.8) Cu sub 2 O sub (8+delta) single crystals. The normal state resistivity in the a-b varies linearly with temperature and extrapolates to zero at T=O. The slopes of the upper critical field are -4.5 +-1 (-0.55) T/K for H perpendicular (parallel) to the c-axis. The coherence length is calculated to be ~30angstroms in the a-b plane but only ~4angstroms perpendicular to it. xi sub c is thus shorter than the 12angstroms spacing between the Cu-O double layers. From H sub (cl) and H sub (c2) data, the Sommerfield parameter gamma is deduced.
